First of all, it's in a gorgeous retail space right near the Wildcat Lounge on Ortega. Second it's a 3 day event so if you can't make it Friday or Saturday, you always have Sunday! And it's your last chance shopping weekend this year to get that one-of-a-kind, unique gift you have been looking for...or a treat for yourself!

finally something to post about! been busy over the summer with work, (doing flowers, I won't complain), but I was invited to be apart of a local thing here in Santa Barbara called the A.M.A.S.S. Gallery last saturday and it was pretty rad. got to do a big wall right off of State street on Mason in SB that should be up for a while. heres some flicks.

getting started... i hate painting over good shit.

finished piece. had to rush it. chasing the sun light. i'm not the fastest.
running out of dark purple sucked. mild can control i guess. i still waste paint. i'm no whippersnapper anymore. just an old lady having fun. yay! can't wait to do another! more!

They will soon be upon us.... From all over the state... Near and far.... Sharing their fancy creations, innovative designs and eclectic collections.... SPACE INVADERS 2!! yay!

This is one of my dream jobs.... organizing events that bring lots of creatives together! Well, I got to do it a couple of times last year and I am honored to be able to host it again on June 18th here in Santa Barbara!

We call it 'SPACE INVADERS' because, well..... we transform my work space and parking lot of my studio into a fabulous, crafty experience that would not exist without so many wonderful creators! ...And because I love the game and those little critters. They are so cute. I still play it at home too. True story!

Well this year is going to be tons of fun with over 25 different vendors...so far!! Some of the same designers as last year and some new ones too!! There will be artists, jewelry designers, doll makers, vintage collectors, seamstresses, photographers, cupcake makers, and more! We will also be hosting some of the lovely and talented designers from Etsy SB group too!

There will also be a raffle to benefit the Heart 2 Hand art fund! More info here. Tellin' ya... last year the people who won were getting away with a bag full of goodies! Thank you to everyone who donated and participated.

Oh yeah! This will be a good one! 8 artist take on the title "Broken Hearts Are For Assholes" which was actually Bob's, (Brett), idea based off of Frank Zappa's song. I love the lyrics. Not a big Zappa fan but it sounds good. words. :)

Anyhoo... I did some new little arts for the show! Smaller ones that will be fun for people to connect with. Face it, we've all broken or been broken hearts so no one should be confused.

I did some more small stencils and drawings on rad found wood and other wood shapes ! Here's a few I did today! Yay! New art!

And as always, my pieces will be priced to sell. I rather people be able to come to the show and leave with some thing than try and market myself all ridiculously priced. I have a job friends. Not dependent on my art. I do it because I love it! And I like to share... so come get some!

Oh oh.... and I did some teeny tiny art! Mini art pieces that will be for sale as well!!

I'll probably put some ribbon on them or something! They are only about 5 inches high!

LEGAL WALL IN SLC.....

Just got back from a trip to SLC...(my home town...no im not a mormon but I survived.)

I was honored to beable to paint with some old homies from back in the day... Strut and Chew. These guys fuckin kill it every time, swear! Chew was one of the first people, (in 98'), to show me how to do a piece...(when I used to try but now I pretty much stick to what I can pull off decently!...the girls and the birds if ya don't know by now!) I still get all goofy hanging with amazing artists like them. I was tripping over cans and shit...(I didn't have anything to eat either.) Not to mention the altitude in SLC and 2 cups of coffee....yaaaoo! Swear I was dizzy for a week!

This wall has survived downtown Salt Lake for a lil while and changes quite often among the street artists in SLC and some homies that visit, (like me!....lucky.) Its located at 337 south and 400 west if you are in the hood! There used to be a house in front of the property that was doomed for demo so the owner donated it to local artists to paint. It was quite a scene! Not sure how long our production will be up but you are bound to catch some bad ass shit no matter who rocked it! Yay SLC writers! Much love for keepin it going! Thanks for having me!

Also got to produce a big sign for my friends nail salon, The Nail Room located at 380 East and 1700 South. Made a huge wood sign for front of the building. Didn't get to put it up but you can imagine how it would work, right? She also has some of my work in the salon that I did a few summers ago. She rules!

MURAL Downtown SB....Mason and State

Yesturday I got to do a lil mural downtown... It was rad. I love when people stop and give you the eye like your vandalizing or something in the broad day light, (although that is a pretty inconspicuous way of doing it!). Started at about 11:30 and when till about 4.... just went out of my head... I hate sketchin shit up then trying to paint it and it looks different or unproportioned. K.I.S.S. ....means KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. ....and then let go...

Hopefully Santa Barbara could lighten up and support a few more legal murals around town. Add some culture, some color, something to make people think. There is nothing more important right now than getting our heads out of our asses stressing about money and wealth and all that shit. Looking at art at least for that moment takes you away to a beautiful place. Do that often and you'll find your not spending so much time obsessing about things that are out of our control. Its gonna be what its going to be.

New focus,.....getting more art supported in the SB. Its dryer than Salt Lake City. Geez. :)

Keeping up with the world is tough eh! Lots happening though it seems slow. Working on a fresh new line for MATM! Something more organic and hand drawn is where im heading.
